Real Marina Hotel and Spa

"Smoking (including vaping) is permitted across the sun deck, poolside. Not healthy at all for those who who to breathe in polluted and those who which to eat unaffected. Not “inclusive” and not a good advert or a good welcome. There are signs saying loungers cannot be reserved by towels, books etc and yet the staff proactively approached people to suggest they reserve a lounger by leaving a towel, book or hat before going elsewhere for lunch or for a walk etc. Not a good advert or a good welcome."

"Hotel boasts a quiet location with great views, friendly staff, and a luxury feel in the lobby and bathrooms, but overall value for money was poor. Breakfast-only option for 3-nights was €300 cheaper and would have been much better choice. Half-board 5-star dining fell short with repetitive breakfast, an average buffet on a first night. La carte on the second night was not much better with overly salty octopus, extra €8 charge for an average steak is fair, but served without any steak sauce made it worse. We have decided to dine elsewhere on our last night. Additional frustrations included broken balcony furniture and rigid room service hours made it impossible to get milk before 8:00 AM which also has €2 mini-bar fee. Most of other areas of the property needs TLC."

"The location is very good the people are lovely . The hotel bar staff are very nice as are the restaurant staff . The cleaning of the hotel isn’t up to 5 stars . The hallway carpets are not clean , the pool loungers are dirty and the pool overflow round the pool has green and brown algae growing in it . The hotel looks like it needs work done . Whilst we were there they started digging all the tiles of the baby pool drilling until after 8 pm . The hotel was full , that should have been done in the off season . At some time it may have been a 5 star but it needs an update . Our room carpet was threadbare . We had to constantly ask to have our room cleaned or re cleaned as even the bath wasn’t cleaned . I would go back to Olhao but not stay at the same hotel . The lift was stuck on the 4th floor for 8 of our 10 day stay , the ladies toilets in the pool area had 2 toilets one was locked our whole stay leaving only 1 to use ."
