Alif Avenidas

"When I checked out this morning and they asked how my stay was and my immediate reply was “fine”. The room is comfortable and I actually slept incredibly well, but it’s definitely not a 4 star, closer to 2.5 or 3. The bar wasn’t open a single night we were there and it just seemed kinda dead. I was able to park on the street immediately outside the front door most of the trip which was very nice. We were able to check in moderately early (12:30) but we got to the hotel at about 9am and unfortunately weren’t given any option to check in early. It was in a quiet location which was nice but not super close to many major attractions."

"Great hotel, excellent service! We had everything we needed and we will definitely recommend it! The location is great, next to the metro station for the airport, cafeterias, supermarkets, restaurants. The bed was really big and comfortable, the room was always clean as they were cleaning every day. Everything was perfect!"

"Alif is a three-star hotel masquerading as a four-star, maybe because it has a small swimming pool. Reception staff are helpful and friendly. WiFi is very good. A week earlier we had stayed at the three-star Principe Lisboa, a few doors away. So this review compares the two hotels. The Alif room is no better than Principe. The latter seemed newer and it had a balcony. The Alif bathroom was clean, but the shower is over-bath, without a grab-rail. The bath felt slippy. The Principe shower was walk-in, which is more modern and safer. The Alif breakfast was definitely not four-star. The coffee was average, at best. The bread & pastries were poor. Good fruit selection though. The Principe coffee was way better. Unlike Principe Lisboa, the AC at Alif was not set to allow me to cool the room. The room, even in mid-January, got quite warm for us during the night. A four-star hotel should enable customers to set the temperature, hot or cold, to their own comfort. Soundproofing is quite poor. I could clearly hear a gentleman when he used the toilet in the room overhead. And I am not talking about flushing. Next time? I’ll stay at Principe Lisboa."
