"We stayed here for 4 nights in May 2026. 2 nights were part of a tour and 2 nights were on our own. Check in was quick and easy for us at 6PM. We were in room 425. It has a comfortable king bed with 2 pillows for each side. There are power and USB connections by each bed side. There is a table with chairs in the room. The bathroom has 2 sinks. It takes a high step to get into the tub to shower. The room included big water bottle plus 2 smaller glass water bottles, that were replenished all days but 1. The staff is friendly, especially the guys outside who assist arriving guest and those catching rides. The front desk was less friendly but very professional. Housekeeping did not understand English very well. They mostly did a good job, but they did not check and refill our empty soap dispenser in the bathroom one day. The hotel location is far from the tourist center, but close to restaurants and a Lidl grocery store. I prefer to be able to walk from hotel to tourist areas and back to take breaks during the day, but this distance does not allow for this to easily occur. The hotel provided shuttle was great. I was concerned that it might fill up, but we were alone on our first ride into the city at 9. There were a lot more people leaving the city for the hotel around 4PM, but there were still available seats. The ride back at 4PM can take 25 minutes in afternoon traffic. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes from the hotel and from a location near the city center. A couple of negatives are – the elevators are complicated and slow. You swipe your room key card, then select floor 1, 2 or your floor. It then displays the elevator you need to take. You should verify your floor is listed as one of the stops on the elevator or it will not stop on your floor. There were long waits to get an elevator, sometimes over 5 minutes. Viking cruises stays at this property. This is mainly an issue at breakfast. There are long lines at 7am to get into breakfast, as the Viking travelers are all eating early to head out together. This is a buffet (and a very good buffet) but long lines going in, lead to long lines at each buffet station. Wait a while to go to breakfast (7:30AM or later) to avoid crowds. There is a piano player at 7:30AM which is a nice touch. One more tip - Instead of a ‘Do not disturb’ card for your room door, there is a switch next to the bathroom lights. We inadvertently pressed this switch one morning, turning on a small red indicator outside our door, so our room was not attended to that day. That was on us, but this is different than most hotels. Still, this is a very nice hotel, away from the city center."
