Hilltop hotel with a view
The Four Views Baia owes its fabulous views to its hilltop setting, and overlooks the terracotta-roofed city of Funchal and the glittering Atlantic Ocean. It’s in peaceful surroundings, but with easy access to the town centre. You’re just a short walk from here to the city’s famous gardens, palm-lined promenade, and a host of restaurants and wine bars.
The resort’s outdoor pools are handily positioned to face the ocean. There are two of them, fringed by greenery and one’s set aside for smaller guests. You’ll find an extra pool inside the Fourfeelings Spa. Other amenities in here include an ice fountain, relaxation zone, steam room and sauna, not to mention a selection of cabins for indulging body treatments.
For dining, you’ve got a choice of two restaurants. BayView is open for breakfast and dinner, and does a mean line in international buffet fare, plus there’s the option of an a la carte menu in the evenings. The Pool Deck Bar, meanwhile, is a summery eatery on the waterside that deals in lighter bites like snacks and salads.
Rooms are smart and modern, with light-wood furnishings, terracotta shades and contemporary artwork. All the essentials are included as standard, such as TVs, hairdryers and furnished balconies.
