"Lovely hotel. Well appointed with beautiful sea views. Excellent food at both breakfast and dinner. Staff were without exception totally customer focused, couldn't do enough to make the customer experience a great one. Special thanks to Artur and the guys on reception who patiently helped my MIL with her lost luggage. Thank you for making it a great holiday."

"Meliá Madeira Mare is a beautiful seaside hotel with stunning ocean views and a modern, elegant design. The rooms are spacious, clean, and many offer breathtaking balconies overlooking the Atlantic. The staff is friendly and attentive, making the stay very comfortable. The pool area is relaxing, and the breakfast buffet has a great variety of fresh options. The location is convenient, close to Funchal center. Overall, a great choice for a relaxing and stylish getaway."

"I recently stayed at the Melia Madeira for four nights and won’t be returning. Overall, the experience wasn’t great. The rooms didn’t have anything special, but the beds were the worst part—they were incredibly uncomfortable. The quality was very poor and definitely not up to par with a five-star hotel. Even the bathrooms had rough, thin towels and only a single shower cap among the usual room supplies. The shower was inconsistent, with low water pressure at times. The only good thing was the large sun terrace, which I paid a lot for, but it was the only highlight of the stay. The breakfast restaurant felt like a large, noisy canteen, with mediocre food and quality that would be more like a three-star hotel. The atmosphere was very boring and empty at night, lacking any warmth. It wouldn’t make you want to stay, dine there or even endure the ‘entertainment’. Not worth the high prices."
