"Beware- I booked a 2 night stay via Booking.com for 18/19 June. The hotel took a payment on 27/5/25 for 1 night. I cancelled the booking on 6 June as a free cancellation due to a change of arrangements. I should have been refunded for the one night payment within 5 working days. After several weeks, I still had not received a refund. I contacted Booking.com who then contacted the hotel. Several weeks later still no refund. I had to contact my credit card company and lodge a Section 75 claim against the hotel for a non- refund. I eventually received a refund on my credit card on the 3 September!!"

"We had high hopes for a 4-star hotel. The lobby, restaurant, pool, and public spaces are remodeled and attractively designed. However, the guest room floors are outdated, featuring 30+ year old linoleum flooring, cheap furnishings, small claustrophobic guest rooms, a gross soap dispenser in the shower, and low end products — all of which scream budget 2-star hotel. This would have been fine except for the €500/room price point. The rotisserie restaurant in the hotel is closed and the property is showing its age. It’s in desperate need of a remodel, and investment especially in the guest rooms."

"Hotel Alga offers excellent facilities and well-maintained common areas, both indoors and outdoors. The green spaces are beautiful and carefully preserved. The hotel is centrally located, with good service throughout, a nice pool area, and a well-equipped bar. Breakfast is also very good. Our room was small but had everything necessary, and the suite’s bathroom was excellent. The only point to note is that the pool closes at 7:30 PM. With such warm weather, it would be nice to enjoy it a bit later. Guests are aware when the lifeguard finishes their shift and could manage their own swimming safely. Another suggestion would be to terrace or adjust the pool floor so that an adult can stand safely across the entire area. Many hotels already use this solution, which also reduces water consumption and increases safety. Overall, a very enjoyable stay with great amenities and attentive service."
