Oassium Hotel - Adults Only

"Myself, my partner and mother came here for a short break. We had a nice time. Positives: * Friendly staff - very helpful. * Restaurant/bar area - the bar is only small but they have plenty of drinks to choose from at reasonable prices. We had breakfast as part of our booking which was ok, plenty of different cheeses, hams, fruit, eggs, bread, etc to choose from, one thing we liked was they have a fresh orange juice station. On the evenings the restaurant has different buffets on, we stayed here for a few of them and found them to be nice, plenty of meats, salads, veg and the chef cooks fresh food in front of you. * Good location - right next to the sea (although this was closed off during our visit as work is being done across the beach) and there are restaurants/bars/shops near by. * Nice sized swimming pool (although we didn't go in as it wasn't very warm). * Good sized rooms - the bathroom, bedroom and balcony area all have plenty of space. There is a kettle and coffee pod machine in the room too (you can get more pods from reception at 50 cent a pod). The rainfall shower is amazing too and very powerful. Beds are a little hard, but comfortable. * Not far from Reus airport - in a local taxi costs around 35-40 euros and only about 15-20 minutes. Negatives: * No lunch time menu in the hotel itself, but there are other hotels/restaurants near by. Would be a nice feature if the hotel offered even basic lunch items such as sandwiches for guests. * The lower ground rooms don't have much sun on them as there are a lot of trees around the hotel, blocking the view. Also when it rains the balcony gets wet as the wooden roof has open slots in between them so you can't even sit on the balcony when weather is bad. * Spa - we were informed it was free to use, but when we turned we had to pay an extra 4 euro each for a swimming hat and also an additional 2 euros each for a towel. Hats should be optional and you should not have to pay extra for towels. * Reception - although the reception staff are friendly, it can get busy (which is not the hotels fault), but they only have one person on so there are times were quite a few people are waiting around to be seen."

"Excellent little hotel for a girlie week with a friend. The hotel is small and only has the ground and first floor and no lift. Rooms are large, airy, clean and have a lovely balcony. The hotel is part of a much larger complex, Estival Park so we had free access to to the sports centre and the two other hotels’ facilities there is no day or evening entertainment but we went to one of the other hotels in the evening. The quiet in the day suited us, there were more than enough sunbeds to accommodate. Certainly worth a return visit. We had a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing week."

"Location appalling (see pics) it’s a bomb site and shouldn’t be offered in current state. Hotel clean, breakfast lovely. Unable to use spa and wellness facilities as was jam packed, noticed lots of Spanish use the facilities and nothing wrong with this but we assumed it was for guests only and therefore would have been quieter. We came home early as the resort has nothing at all to offer. We went into Salou via bus one evening for food and walk around and following day got a bus to Barcelona costing 66€ return for 2 and around 2 hours each way. We booked the holiday and chose this hotel for the facilities and assumed the resort would be quiet but have something to offer, it didn’t. Someone has already mentioned the Irish Bar being a god send and it was, had a meal there and it was delicious. Really disappointed with Tui who didn’t inform us of the beach and promenade being a building site until after booking. Wish we had stayed home, saved our money and the hassle of travelling and just visited ICI Wilton not far from where we live.
