Ibersol Almunecar Beach & Spa

"Hello all, we went to the hotel as a family group of 6, the hotel is nice, clean and big. Very cental opp beach. This is a very quaint but quiet area of Spain. Our problems with hotel were that they cater for mainly Spanish and French, they do a varied range of activities like quizzes, games but they were all in French or Spanish, the pool staff very rarely inform the English unless you ask what they announced today around the pool about activities. There are 3 bars, pool bar, inside bar and show bar. They open inside bar first for a short time, they then open pool bar, pool bar closes at 8pm, when they open show bar untill 11pm. There are long queues at inside bar for drinks as staff always seemed slow slow slow and chatting to each other whilst customers waiting. I waited half hour for a cup of tea. We were all inclusive and expected cocktails but all inclusive only allows you to have the one selection of Cocktail of the day which they promote so no choice, you are not able to request any other Cocktail. Also the show bar only one open after 8 shuts at 11pm. Unable to get drinks after that. I expected with fully inclusive all day snacks and a wide range to eat especially for kids but found it was olives, bread and crisps put out until dining room opens at 1pm, no burgers or fries put out for kids, you had to wait until 1pm for anything else when dining room opens. Overall it was a relaxing holiday, nice pool area, clean hotel but would have been much better I feel if they catered for all their customers, especially where activities for kids were announced"

"Welcome to the worst hotel experience. Let’s start with the staff. Only a few employees could understand or speak English. Most of them spoke only their own language or French. The drinks were not great, and the food quality was extremely disappointing — I would rate it 2 out of 10. The snack bar looked very poor, offering only olives, popcorn, and pancakes. It was obvious that the hotel was understaffed, as guests had to wait in line for up to 30 minutes just to get drinks. The pool bar was open for only three hours a day. There was absolutely no music around the swimming pool, except during water activities. The entertainment quality was very poor. Communication was also a major issue because we did not speak French, and we felt ignored by the entertainment team. Another English couple also complained about being completely ignored by them. The most memorable employee was the one with the distinctive mustache and tied-back hair. He was also the tallest red-haired person on the team The only positive aspect was the location. There are some great bars outside the hotel with very good music, drinks, and food. We definitely do not recommend choosing this hotel — 100%."

"Great location, entertainment all in french and lacking fun. Rooms dated however very clean and amazing view. Food was very disappointing as hot food always seemed tepid and no variety or themed nights need new menu chef"
