BLUESEA Bahia de Lobos

"Just returned from a fantastic week at BLUESEA Bahia de Lobos and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We arrived late in the evening and received a warm, friendly welcome from the reception team. Our room (1246) was spacious, clean and had all the basic facilities we needed for a last-minute family getaway. The beds were comfortable and, after reading previous reviews, we requested a mattress topper, which was provided free of charge. The room was a little dated, but we understand there is a refurbishment planned later this year. The room included a free safe, was cleaned daily, and fresh towels were provided whenever required. We also had a pool-view room, which was lovely to wake up to each morning. The main pool area was excellent. The children loved spending time in the pool, there was always a lifeguard on duty, and there were plenty of sun loungers available throughout the week. At times it even felt like we had the pool almost to ourselves. The pool bar offered a good selection of soft drinks, beer, cocktails and ice creams throughout the day. The restaurant was well maintained, with tables cleaned and reset regularly. Breakfast offered a good choice including fresh fruit, yoghurt, churros, breads, meats and cooked breakfast items. Lunch included fresh salads, pizza, pasta and meat dishes. Dinner varied throughout the week and, although some reviews suggest the food can be repetitive, we found there was always enough choice and enjoyed most meals. There was also a selection of desserts available each day. Some were better than others, but there was always something to try. We didn’t spend much time at the evening entertainment as we were usually out exploring the area, although whenever we passed through, the venue appeared busy and well attended. We didn’t notice many daytime activities, but we were often away from the hotel during the day. The splash park is around a 5–10 minute walk from the hotel and was a big hit with the children. The main strip is approximately a 15-minute walk away, with a pleasant coastal route offering some lovely views along the way. We also hired a car through the Avis digital booking desk in reception. The process was quick and straightforward—we booked in the evening and the car was delivered to the hotel the following morning at 9am, with collection arranged afterwards. Most importantly, all the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. Overall, we had a wonderful holiday. We were looking for a relaxing family getaway in the sunshine, and BLUESEA Bahia de Lobos delivered exactly that. While it may not be a luxury five-star resort, it offered great value for money, a friendly atmosphere and everything we needed for an enjoyable week away. We would happily return in the future."

"Arrived at the hotel at 11.30pm and was warmly greeted by a pleasant and helpful receptionist who surprised us with a packed lunch incase we were hungry. We missed the all inclusive drinks as that finishes at 11 pm but had a quick drink before going to our room. Our room was large and well equipped with a kettle, fridge and a free safe, the bathroom could do with an upgrade but was adequate. Only complaint about our room was we could hear the pool pump running 24 hours a day. The hotel was very quiet so there was no problems with getting a deck chair but at high season parasols may be in short supply. The hotel is absolutely spotless, never been in such a clean hotel, they even deck scrub under the deck chairs. The food was average, luke warm at times but the pasta bar was superb.. The dining room is an accident waiting to happen, the wooden floor boards have sprung and they have tried taping them down with the result there are lots of risen edges and a trip hazard. The bar/function room is a bid drab and could do with a makeover but the bar staff were excellent. Evening entertainment was a bit mixed, heard two very good female singers but we usually went out at night. Despite a few minor flaws I would return to this hotel."
