Radisson Blu Resort and Spa Mogan

"The hotel exterior is bland without any style or distinctive features. Ditto the entrance and reception area. The landscaping around the main adults pool is a mess. A motley collection of bedraggled plant specimens and dead plants. The sun loungers do not have any cushions. Breakfast tends to be rather chaotic as the seating area is insufficient for the number of guests . The range of food was good but the pastries were dry and tasteless. Some freshly baked croissants would be an improvement. The Spa is totally separate from the hotel with very limited opening hours."

"Having stayed here a number of times over the last 5 years and recommended it to others. This is likely to be our last time here. Now, it depends what you are looking for in a holiday. It’s definitely not 5 star. For us as a couple a big deal is the “Quiet” “Tranquil “ area that is clearly sign posted but absolutely does not exist anymore. On our last day, today the area has turned into total carnage due to the main pool all of a sudden being closed. I’m guessing due to an “accident” A recommendation would be to make the “quiet” pool adults only given the size and space of the main pool in the lower area. My husband went to the gym at the start of our holiday to find out it was closed for renovation but no pre notice given. After enquiring at reception he was told that it would be opened by Wednesday, today is Saturday and it’s still closed . By sheer luck he spotted people working out on the 4th floor yoga area where he found that the gym equipment had been relocated to. Prior to arriving here we spent 3 nights in the other Raddison on the island which is a lot smaller and quieter however you do not have the fab restaurants that Mogan has, this going forward would be our hotel of choice if we return. As I said, it depends what you want from a hotel and holiday."

"Good Bits: Very clean, good facilities, nice pool, room spacious The Bad Bits: Arrived at 12:30 reception guy said rooms not ready as check in is not till 15:00(that's a first, will have to get BA to re arrange their flights times) he told us nothing about hotel just said he would call us when our room was ready. After an hour hadn't heard anything went back to reception to be told our room has been available since arrival! Housekeeping is dreadful, coffee and milk never replenished, towels not changed, asked for some ice and was told to go to the bar to get some which given the size of the hotel was a long trek. The buffet restaurant has got to be the worst I have ever encountered, meal times are completely manic and the food dreadful. The eggs are literally thrown onto the plate, bacon is so salty is not edible, the sausage is quite something else and rock hard. The so called fresh fruit included pineapple and peaches in syrup out of a can. Although half board we avoided the buffet restaurant and eat in Mogan where there are some really nice restaurants. Staff friendliness is mixed some staff are polite and have a smile, but most are quite miserable and never greet you with a hello or ola. I get it that this hotel is great for families but if you are a couple looking for a relaxing stress free holiday this place is not it , big mistake on our part. As for being 5 star , the facilities would suggest it is, however reality is that this struggles to achieve 3 stars."
