Mercure Madrid Centro

"Among the positive points one should note the convenient and calm location, comfortable bedding as well as a nice front desk welcome. Unfortunately that doesn’t make up for the very grossly overpriced simple and quite small rooms which, although reasonably comfortable are miles from a 4 stars standing. The breakfast is decent and so is the wifi. For the rest this hotel has basically no amenities, even the lobby is minimal. On top of this our friends forgot two packs of ham in their fridge when leaving and called immediately to let the hotel know but mysteriously only one was found…, and this didn’t seem to bother anyone. Strange sense of service."

"Excellent location, service. Comfortable premier double room with sofa bed and a big balcony (no chairs or table though). Fridge stocked with one off supply of soft drinks and water. Nexpresso machine. Pity it was paper cups and wooden stirrers. Excellent and friendly service, especially from Pedro and Letizia who went above and beyond to help me check in for my flight home. Definitely come back here again."

"I stayed 5 nights in the hotel, which provided a good Mercure standard. The hotel is close to the city center next to the Prado Museum, walking distance from the Plaza Mayor. The room was cosy and clean, it had a small terrace. The breakfast was fresh and had a big variety included churros. :) The staff was kind and helpful."
