"Viva Golf Alcudia, absolutely first class, room superb with part sea view. Such great value, also went in 20.24, Joan was in control of everything in the most pleasant and efficient way. The lady in charge of cocktails etc. round the pool was just superb, so efficient and had such a lovely manner. My friend & I hope to holiday again in this hotel, we love it."

"Constant dog barking and poor service affected our stay at this 4 star resort. We came with high expectations for this 4 star adults only hotel in Playa Alcudia booked through TUI but unfortunately our stay was affected by ongoing noise and service issues. We were placed in a room at the back overlooking an alleyway directly opposite a villa with two German Shepherds that are clearly guard dogs. These dogs bark loudly and randomly throughout the night at 1am 3am 5am and all hours in between. The dogs were barking every night. We barely slept the first night and even though Im a bit deaf it was still extremely disruptive. Other guests told us they were also kept awake by the same dogs. I took photos and videos of the barking as proof. I also spoke to guests on the front side overlooking the sea who struggled to sleep because of bird nests in the flowers and plants right outside the rooms. The baby birds wake people loudly at 5am or 6am. Whilst we love birds and animals there are other areas around the hotel where they could nest instead. When we raised the dog noise at reception the staff member showed little interest in helping. We had to contact TUI in the UK before the hotel took it seriously. They eventually offered a quieter room on the 2nd floor but it took days to become available. The process would have required packing all our belongings and waiting hours with no updates so we decided to stay put. Not once did they call us to check how we were doing it was always us going to reception. A better hotel would have logged the complaint times and tried to resolve the issue sooner. Reception and management were disappointing. There were often long waits to speak to someone. On check in we mentioned it was our anniversary but received no recognition. I also asked for extra English tea bags on arrival and was told they could not provide any because housekeeping had finished. The manager appeared to prioritise some guests over others. Staff on reception sometimes struggled with basic English which made simple requests difficult. There were several other issues. The room had no USB ports which felt outdated. The tea and coffee supplies are very limited with signs saying they will not replenish them and you have to pay extra. The mattresses are rock hard although they offer different pillows. There is also a strange raised step into the room that is a trip hazard every time literally every room seems to have it and I tripped several times. Breakfast was inconsistent with items frequently running out including large cups for tea and coffee. In the juice area I saw a chef wiping his nose with no gloves which was unpleasant. The drinks area was often messy with uncleared cups and jugs. Staff were sometimes on their phones during service. In the bar the tables were often dirty and staff were not particularly helpful. The gym is across a very busy road and frequently runs out of water cups. Parking is very limited with only about five spaces that are taken by staff. In ten days I was never able to use the hotel car park once even though parking is advertised. This was frustrating. On the positive side the hotel building itself looks clean at first glance and the beach is nice although very busy. Overall we are not very happy with the experience. We have stayed in better three star hotels. This hotel does not feel like a proper 4 star property. The combination of noise issues poor communication and several smaller problems made it disappointing. I hope the hotel takes noise complaints more seriously in future as this will likely affect other guests."
