Barcelo Ponent Beach (ex Barcelo Aguamarina)

"Place had visible mold in the bathroom. The bathroom door was soaked from the bottom and swelled up from all the water from the shower because their isn’t only one piece of glass by the drain and the other side is open and water pools up on the bathroom floor by the door. Bed sheets had stains all over them. Large Cobb webs on the corner of the walls and I have pictures of everything and reported to the front desk and they just ignored what I had to say and show them Atleast give me a room change. But when it came to needing something they didn’t hesitate to say you need to pay extra. The place looked like a glorified motel. The price was high for what you get. The breakfast was good though but I don’t know how you can mess that up. "

"We have stayed solely at Barcelo Group hotels in the past 5 years and loved to try new locations. However, this hotel was a total disappointment. From the outside it looks that no improvement works have been done whatsoever. The rooms are definitely not worth the 4* grading they have: you will have walls peeling, aircon vents filled with dust cobs, shower cabin filled with rust, old toilets with no toilet brushes, stained and missing skirting boards and no water pressure for the showers. When it comes to the buffet, there is hardly any diversity for food at staff feel very stressed and unhappy to serve you compared with what we’ve experienced in all our past Barcelo experiences as a family. The location however is excellent giving you access to one of the area’s most beautiful beaches. "

"My stay at this hotel was lovely. Super comfortable bed, clean room everyday. the best part of the hotel has to be the location, the beach is less than 1 minute from the poolside, beautiful views of the sea. Equally an easy walk into the centre to explore restaurants about 10-15min walk with amazing choices for food. the hotel is also 5min walk from bus stop that is useful for transport to the santanyi markets and airport. Additionally, the pick up for starfish boat experiences are just on the right of the hotel. Cala D'or itself caters for all types of trips, whether its friends, family, couples, solo, we had a great experience on a girls trip and i would definitely return. The only slight negative i have is that, I would recommend using local restaurants for dinner, these are much better than the buffet in my opinion, great options to choose from. "
