Zafiro Cala Mesquida

"We’ve just come back from a lovely family holiday at Zafiro Cala Mesquida and overall had a wonderful time. We stayed in Block 5 with the grandparents in the room next door, which worked brilliantly for us as a family of six with children aged 8–10. The rooms were spacious, clean and well kept throughout the stay. One of the biggest positives for us was the pool area around Block 5. We deliberately stayed away from the larger main pool and always managed to get sunbeds without any trouble. The pool bar there was excellent and the bar staff were brilliant — very friendly and happy to humour me while I practised my Spanish! The food overall was varied and of a good standard. We particularly enjoyed the bistro-style lunches in the afternoon, which felt a bit more relaxed than the buffet. The location is stunning — right next to a beautiful beach with the clearest water I’ve ever swum in. I also got up early one morning to watch the sunrise and would absolutely recommend doing that. A few negatives worth mentioning. At times the main buffet restaurant felt a bit like a canteen, which is understandable in a large family resort, but we did feel areas of food were being cordoned off and dishes taken away well before 9pm which made evening meals feel a bit rushed. The à la carte restaurant is right next to the main stage, so if you’re hoping for a quieter, more relaxed dinner it probably isn’t the best choice. The entertainment in the evenings was unfortunately poor, and what the hotel really lacked for us was a separate bar area away from the main entertainment where adults could sit and relax. That said, as a family spanning grandparents and young children we had a genuinely lovely holiday together and made some brilliant memories. Yes, I would recommend Zafiro Cala Mesquida — just with the caveat that evening meals can feel rushed and the on-site entertainment isn’t a highlight."

"As a family resort, Zafiro Cala Mesquida really couldn’t be faulted. Great staff who worked hard to make the holiday enjoyable; plenty of organised entertainment and engagement for kids - certainly the 6-10 age bracket we were most interested in. The food in the buffet restaurants was good for all meals. The fact that a sheltered sandy beach is only a 3 minute walk from the hotel is a bonus if you fancy some time away from the resort pools."

"Excellent hotel, facilities, staff, food, entertainment and location for the beach. We went as a family of 14, and the all inclusive gave everyone flexibility for children and adults. Of note, the chefs were very accommodation when providing individual gluten free food options. We loved the enthusiasm of the entertainment team looking after the children. The bar and restaurant staff were very attentive. Individual experience may vary according to room location. We were particularly lucky to go in low season when the hotel was less busy, and al had collated Seaview suites."
