"We travelled as a family of 4, children ages 8 and 10. We hired a car from Palma airport and when we arrived at the hotel we were unsure as to which building to go to, but we went to the aparthotel. Inside it was very clean and spacious, there was some maintenance work going on which made it smell like a burning clutch smell but this finished the next day i think and it didn't affect our stay in any way. The staff spoke great English and were nice and friendly.
Our room was good too, clean and modern, however our balcony view was of the hotel opposite and the roof of our building. I found the aparthotel and the hotel opposite confusing as to what we could do where and when and what was included in our all inclusive stay. From the Tui Web page, where we booked our holiday and reading rip advisor, it didn't seem to mention that the restaurants are scattered all around the resort and they are mainly on the other side of the hotel opposite. This wasn't communicated well by hotel staff or in the literature for the hotel on Tui etc. From what we understood we could only reserve 1 table at each of the restaurants. Unfortunately we couldn't get a table at any of the restaurants as they were all full and the 1 time we booked at the Ranch restaurant we had to cancel as I was unwell.
I think we got a good flavour as to what was on offer at each of the restaurants through the main buffet restaurant as they had theme nights that included Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Italian etc. The food was good, although there was not as much on offer compared to other all inclusive hotels we have stayed in. The buffet restaurant was very busy and packed in tight, everyone bashing into the backs of each other's chairs trying to squeeze past. The staff ensured the food areas were kept clean and replenished, although some of the plates of food went cold fairly quickly there didn't seem to be any heaters or heating lamps to keep the food hot, which I thought was odd. Generally the food was good.
The hotel itself was overrun by families with small children and they seemed to aimlessly walk around, especially in the restaurant getting under everyone's feet. The majority of the guests were German families and English and the activities that went on around the pool and entertainment were English and German. I found the entertainment to be of a low standard and was repetitive and catered to more of the younger kids aged 3-6 really. My children were certainly not interested and the other shows such as the magic, singing and dancing were pretty low to be honest.
There was water polo and aqua gym in our pool, but volleyball was played in the other pool in the other hotel. I get that the other hotel is bigger, but it felt that more emphasis and entertainment etc was put on for that hotel rather than the aparthotel. There is an indoor pool which you get the key from reception, this is a small pool and not heated which was a shame. The jacuzzi was also not heated and did not bubble at all. We were told we could get clean pool towels every other day from 5-7pm and you have to pay a 10 euro deposit.
We found it hard to get sunbeds for the 4 of us in the afternoon and ended up doing what others were already doing and placing our towels on them first thing in the morning. I hate having to do this and this should be managed better.
The life guards were there every day and were secretly on their phones rather than watching. There were a lot of dangerous stunts going on with the big bouncy ball in the pool that all the kids were on. Lots of adults and kids under the bridge doing acrobatics etc too.
There was music being played around the pool and some of the songs were inappropriate, lots of swearing throughout the songs f#@k and s##t etc and just before the kids mini disco, the warm-up song was Rhianna's song whips and chains. These songs aren't really for families with kids and I think this is something you should look into.
There is also a pool bar and snack bar which we ate our lunch from and this included hot dogs, chips, burgers, chicken, salad, nuggets, fish fingers etc.
The drinks feom the bar were local ones and not branded. When I had a baileys for example this tasted like sugared water and was not nice. It would have been good to have branded drinks and spirits that everyone knows, even if you had to pay I would be willing to do so.
There were a lot of mosquitos around in the evening so make sure you take some repellent as they are very annoying and my husband got bitten several times.
Outside of the resort there are lots of souvenir shops that all sell the same tat. The beach is lovely too.
This was a last minute holiday we booked and although it was "good", we would sadly not return. We are glad we experienced Majorca and we will certainly come back to this lovely island, just not to this resort.
I also think the picture of the swimming pool linked to the trip advisor listing is misleading as it is the other hotel and not the aparthotel that it says it is.
Thank you for your hospitality and warm welcome from all staff."
