Sol Arona Tenerife

"We’ve just returned from a week at Sol Arona, and first of all I have to mention the staff. Every staff member was so welcoming and helpful. The staff at the restaurant genuinely looked happy to see you and were so so lovely. The guys at kids club were amazing! They made my 7 and 10 year old feel very welcome and included them in everything they wanted to join in with. It’s very relaxed so they could come and go as they pleased (as long as you signed them in to let them leave when they wanted to, you could opt to ‘collect them’ so you knew where they were) The kids club is right next to the pool so you could keep an eye on them. The activities were flexible so if the kids wanted to do something else they could. My son, being a bit older was included in setting up activities and helping to ‘run’ the mini disco which he loved. There was so many activities for both children and adults, there was never any pressure to join in but they made you feel welcome if you wanted to. I was worried about the food, reading some reviews online about having to get there as soon as the restaurant opened or you will have cold food, that wasn’t the case for us, they constantly bought out new food and replenished what was there and we never had a cold meal. There was lots of selection albeit the same sort of food each day so not loads of variety day to day but there was something for everyone. Lots of fresh fruit and salad. Highlight was the churros for breakfast and icecream station for all meals for the kids. We went at different times each day and there were always tables available and no queues. Staff were brilliant and keeping the restaurant clean and tidy- there was never food/ plates left around they were quick to turn the tables around. The whole hotel was very clean and well maintained, your room was cleaned every day and new towels were given (if you left yours in the shower) I was dreading the early mornings to reserve the sun beds but they didn’t let anyone down to the pool area until 9:30 while they cleaned which was much appreciated. (The pools were spotless as were the sunbeds and tables) Even when they opened the pool area there was no mad dash and people reserving all the beds, there were beds available all day, the pool was never over crowded and the kids pool was right next to the main pool so you could keep an eye on them. The location is okay, we went to Playa Del Camison beach which was about €3-€6 euros in a taxi, that was a nice beach. There were lots of restaurants/ shops/ pharmacies in walking distance which was handy but we didn’t venture out much. Felt very ‘brits abroad’ not authentic Tenerife but that was expected. Would have given Sol Arona a 5* if there was more variety in the restaurant day to day but apart from that was very impressed. Thank you Sol Arona🥰"

"My husband and I are just back from a lovely short break at the Sol arona. Our daughter had booked it as a last minute surprise gift so we hadn’t really done much research on the hotel before we went however we were pleasantly surprised! The decor throughout the hotel is stunning after recently being renovated. The whole place was immaculate and our room was lovely, had its own living area and a sea view . All the staff were friendly and welcoming. We didn’t have kids with us but there were plenty of families at the hotel and the entertainment looked great for them! No issues re sun loungers, we stayed on the terrace bit and there were plenty! The food was lovely too, great variety at dinner, including a sea food night which was amazing. We were half board so can’t comment on the drinks but the wine and beer at dinner was nice. Great location to explore Tenerife, beach close by. We walked along the front from Los cristianos to adeje stopping at bars on the way. Can’t fault this hotel, we will definitely be back!"
