"Manuel greeted us with the most warmest welcome and an amazing smile… He upgraded our rooms and even gave us a complimentary access to the M lounge… he has just started his career as an apprentice in this beautiful Hotel, however his demeanour and professionalism is that of an experienced hotelier… he is an absolute asset to the Marriott group of hotels. "We stayed at the Basel Marriott Hotel for two nights and will return ourselves and recommend it to others. The staff spoke English and were welcoming and helpful. The rooms were pristine and the entire hotel impressively well maintained. We thought the beds were perfect. We enjoyed using the traditional sauna (nude/textile free and mixed gender). We sometimes encountered five or six other people in the sauna, and it could have easily accommodated ten people. (The shower room area for the sauna was beautiful, perfectly clean and there were wonderful towels and bathrobes there for our use.) In the two days we were at the Basel Marriott we used the sauna four times. The restaurant in the hotel was so good that we returned the second night for our dinner. The hotel exceeded our expectations, and we recommend it for others needing accommodation in Basel Switzerland. Well done, Marriott!"
