Moorish-design hotel on a private beach
The Aziza Beach Golf and Spa is an adults-only retreat on Hammamet’s outskirts, cocooned by gardens of palm trees and on its own private stretch of sand. The resort has a traditional Moroccan look and feel, thanks to its snow-white buildings and arched entryways. Golf fans will be pleased to know there’s free transportation from here to the award-winning Citrus course nearby – you’ll just need to book your visit directly with the hotel.
If you’re looking to properly unwind you’re in for a treat at this place. There’s a lake-like pool in the centre of the grounds, fringed by loungers, parasols and greenery, and with a small whirlpool close by. The hotel spa, meanwhile, is well-equipped with a hammam and a string of treatment cabins for wraps and massages.
There’s a great line-up of bars and restaurants to enjoy. International buffet spreads are the mainstay in the main eatery, while two à la cartes serve up Tunisian and Mediterranean dishes in stylish surroundings. Additionally, you can tuck into tasty dishes at the waterside barbecue joint – here, you can order from a menu of snacks to keep you going between lunch and dinnertime. There’s a handful of bars for cocktails, too, including beachfront and pub varieties, and a charming Moorish café where you can sip mint tea just like the locals.
Just so you know, shorts and beachwear are not allowed in the restaurant from 7pm.
