Iberostar Waves Averroes

The Iberostar Waves Averroes has lucked out on the location front. It’s a huge, sandy-coloured hotel right on the edge of a private beach. Follow the palm-fringed promenade along the seafront, and you’ll come to the centre of Yasmine Hammamet, where yachts bob in the marina, and restaurants and cafés line up along the waterside.

There’s a good round-up of facilities on offer here, including a huge lagoon-style swimming pool, a state-of-the-art spa, a tennis court, and a fitness centre for working up a sweat. The hotel entertainment team keep things lively throughout the day. Expect the likes of water aerobics, games, and quizzes. When the sun goes down, meanwhile, it’s all about shows, live music and Tunisian folklore performances.

When it comes to dining, choose from a buffet restaurant serving round-the-world dishes, and an atmospheric à la carte specialising in a menu of local Tunisian cuisine. There’s also a lovely outdoor terrace where regular barbecues are hosted in the summer months.
