"The reviews for this hotel worried us below is my honest opinion. We stayed here 27th May - 6th June, two adults and a 9 year old. The hotel has just been taken over and they are making a lot of changes to improve it. The location is very good, very close to shops, bars and restaurants. There is a McDonald’s down the road about 10 min walk away. The beach is walking distance, we walked there every time rather than getting the bus that the hotel provided. The restaurant at the beach is better than the buffet at the hotel, they do fresh pizzas, kebabs and burgers with the usual chips/salad. Ice creams and cakes and plenty of drinks. The hotel itself is very picturesque with 5 pools that are 1.40m deep so if you have children under 10 they may need swimming aids as they may not be able to stand up. Those that can swim might get tired. The pool with the slides is 1.20m so is better for kids. Breakfast is okay, they need to add baked beans and re arrange some things on offer as you find yourself going to one side for plain bread and butter to then go across the room to toast it. Some staff are very attentive while others wouldn’t make eye contact so you didn’t get their attention which was annoying at times. Check in was easy but we were not given any information really about the hotel and were not offered any food when we arrived past 10pm at night. Entertainment in the evening isn’t great, we found ourselves walking around the shops. They brought a huge ice cream through the restaurant with fire candles which smoked out the whole place. You couldn’t see the table next to you so I would re think that! It would be nice to see a games room for older kids in one of the empty rooms by the pool bar area near the slides pool. You can see the new owners are trying hard to improve all aspects but it’s a long way off a 5 star hotel at the moment. I would say it’s a 3/4 star hotel. All in all we enjoyed our holiday but probably wouldn’t go back any time soon."
