"Very nice hotel. Went as a solo female traveler, felt very safe and welcomed by the team. Going to rebook for later this year or next year! I have been converted to a KoruMar De Luxe regular :)
Rooms are modern and clean. Cleaned daily, minibar restocked every 3 days but you can request water etc from the lobby bar. Wasn't a problem for me. Cleaners are very friendly and appreciate a tip, even if its small 200 lira every few days. I felt safe leaving my things in the room. Room safe available for free. Dressing gown and slippers provided. Air-con available but I didn't need to use it when I stayed. Bathrooms are very nice. Some toiletries provided. Hairdryer in room.
Location is great, 10 minute walk to the edge of town and around 25 minutes right to the centre of Kuşadasi. Views from the hotel are amazing. I had a land view room facing the mountain but it was really a side sea view. Great for the price. Singing swallows fly in and out of the trees which is beautiful. I saw some fruit bats at night. Balcony is standard but clean, no bugs! Rooms are non-smoking and newly renovated. I could still smell the paint :) quiet rooms, no noise once you close the balcony door. No noise from neighbours or other guests.
The pool is nice. Smaller than some of the other hotels next door but nice, great views, big enough for everyone. Small jacuzzi pool in the centre of the main pool. There is enough sunbeds for everyone. Towels are provided free of charge with the towel card. Pool toilets are clean and spacious.
The grounds of the hotel are quite beautiful. Views of the Med, incredible sunsets - some of the best I've ever seen. There are some great spots to relax, some benches and hammocks overlooking the sea. Lots of flowers, bougainvillea, butterflies. Very pretty place. Tennis court on site.
The private beach is a small pebble beach so I would recommend sea shoes or flip flops for getting in and out. I felt very safe to leave my things on the beach and go swimming as a solo traveller. The jetty is also great and a suntrap if you like to tan. They also offer diving which is cool. There's a lot of cool fish, and the hotel puts out bread so you can feed them - nice touch. Beautiful crystal clear blue waters.
Great views from Efes restaurant on the veranda. Food is very good with a good amount of choice but sometimes dishes were repeated e.g served for dinner and then the same for lunch the next day. But there is enough choice so you don't get bored. The desserts are very delicious and some of the best I've tried in Turkey! Sometimes you have a theme night e.g Turkish night with kebabs, Turkish delight, and baklava. There is a good mix of Mediterranean and other food, sometimes they had Chinese dishes, sushi, carbonara etc. There is something for everyone. Pool bar food was basic but good to fill a hole. Drinks available 24/7 but food only available in short windows e.g pool bar stops serving food at 4pm and then you will need to wait for dinner at 7pm. The AI cocktails were fine, good selection of 7 or 8 basic AI cocktails but if you want something 'proper' like a pina colada, you pay extra. No issues with food or drink, overall it was very good. Cats roaming around all day including meal time, which was nice for me as I like cats and the hotel staff looked after them with food and water which was very sweet. They are very lucky cats living a 5 star life!
I booked the a la carte steak restaurant Sedir, which is nice if you want something a bit more elevated but I didn't really think it was worth the time or money when the AI buffet is so good. But still, it's inexpensive and nice to have a change of scenery from the main buffet restaurant. Staff very attentive and friendly.
The spa is quite basic but the masseuse from Bali is great! I had a very nice massage and nearly fell asleep. They had a deal when I stayed which was hammam/turkish bath and scrub, foam massage, full body massage, and face mask for 60 euro. Absolute bargain for the price. Not 5 star in my opinion but very nice and worth the money.
The other guests were very nice. Lots of older couples. Mainly people from Turkey and Germany, with some English couples. Also some American groups. I wouldn't recommend for children as it's a very relaxed place and there was nothing for children when I stayed. The entertainment was 1 or 2 nights a week and not very lively. I think it would be better as adults only hotel. But it was great as a solo traveller and I felt very comfortable.
The true star of the place is the staff as they are very friendly, warm, welcoming, and can't do enough for you. I put on my booking that I was coming for my birthday and the staff decorated my room with balloons and brought me a fruit plate which made me so happy. They truly care, and want you to be happy. Bar staff very friendly, reception staff, restaurant staff, everyone was amazing and very attentive. Reception staff were very helpful and gave me some recommendations for restaurants in Kuşadasi town and organised a taxi to take me to Ephesus (the ancient city) and back. The return trip was 80 euro which was expensive compared to Uber but it was nice to effectively have a private driver for a few hours. The group tours with coach pickup cost roughly the same or slightly more so its ok value.
I would say that KoruMar De Luxe is more 4 star than 5 star, having stayed at some 5 star. But for the price it's great. I can't say enough good things. The food alone is worth it. I will book again and look forward to coming back :)
Thank you KoruMar for making my stay so special!! Teşekkür ederim! Döneceğim! 💙🇹🇷🧿"
