"AVOID AT ALL COST!!! Worst hotel experience ever. Before we even checked in, we got an email saying thanks for coming. On check in, we were offered a room that had a faulty AC. They knew it was faulty because when I went to complain at the front desk, I saw a sheet of paper with a list of rooms that had no AC. After requesting a room change, I was offered another room without AC still only to be told by the staff that “The hotel wasn’t built for heat” while offering me a standing fan. Shameful for a Chelsea affiliated hotel."

"Booked for 3 nights but upon arrival we were shunted over to an adjacent building called 'Hotel at Stamford Bridge', as the hotel we'd booked was being refurbished. Our accommodation was a far cry from the 4 star rating as advertised. This is tantamount to fraudelent misrepresentation, as no prior warning was given or reduction in room rate offered. I complained to the receptionist and Immediately emailed the parent company, but no redress was forthcoming. We were here for my wife's birthday. What a let-down. We'll never use ASCOTT STAR again."

"As my husband is an avid Chelsea supporter then I treated him last minute to a night away in Stamford Bridge Hotel after first calling to check we could watch the FA Cup final on the Saturday we were there. Was told definitely yes they were showing it in their bar and Frankie’s was also showing it. However, when we arrived we were directed to a Reception in the side building as the main hotel reception and atrium was under refurb, we understand that this has to happen but we were not told of any works when I phoned. The bar was closed so a small area in a conference room was set up with two tv’s and a trestle table at the back that had spirits and mixers on, no draught drinks. It was empty and not very welcoming so we went to Frankie’s bar where we were told that you had to book and they were full another thing the hotel did not mention. We paid £181 for a Superior Double room because we wanted to watch the football but couldn’t. The room was not in the main hotel and was very tired, shower curtain over bath, hole in the bottom of door, something that looked disgusting running down the back of the bathroom door and they had screwed a floor rubber door stop to back of door. We just expected more of a 4 star hotel in Chelsea. Don’t think we’ll stay again."
