"The hotel is just round the corner from Earls Court Underground station, maybe 100m walk, there are local shops, pubs and restaurants nearby ranging from M&S to Tesco express.
It is in a relatively quiet area but seems to be on the flight path for one of the airports so occasionally at night it can be a little noisy with planes landing/taking off. This was our experience as it was warm and had the window open, yes, able to get good fresh air (if you can in London) by opening a window unlike a lot of hotels you rely on air conditioning, this hotel also had aircon in the rooms.
It looks as if it has been recently refurbished and has been done very well, nice big black door entrance up some tiled steps – not sure if there is a disabled access but ground floor rooms were identified by the disabled symbol so I imagine there is.
Nice open foyer, sofas and chairs to sit and chat or have a coffee, the reception desk is well presented and staff very friendly and helpful, check in was very easy and we were told about the hotel and local amenities.
The breakfast room, the hotel does not serve lunch or dinner, is further in than the reception desk, all on one level, its quite small but fully functional and the breakfasts are cooked for you, not a buffet style so another great point for the hotel, so don’t expect the service to be quick, it isn’t. The waiting staff do work hard taking orders and clearing up quickly for the next residents. There is a continental option, toast, meats, salmon etc though the toaster seems to work only on one side and three trips for the bread through the appliance seemed normal for me.
There is a small menu for cooked breakfast, I recommend the scrambled eggs however other diners plates looked really nice.
Our ‘Queen room’ was nice, it was on the third floor, if you have suitcase(s) and you need the lift which is very small, fits a person and a case or two people, that’s it, cosy perhaps. The stairs are next to the lift and are quite steep with quite a narrow tread so step carefully.
The room was very clean and airy, usual facilities, ironing board, hair dryer, tea/coffee making facilities, two large mirrors, table with shallow drawer and light, stand for suitcase, hanging area for shirts, trousers, dresses etc has about 6 hangers. Oddly there was no drawers to put other items of clothing so we had to leave them in the suitcase, the two bedside tables were just that, tables. A big bonus is that there is a small safe for which there is no charge. The bed was very comfortable with a bolster and a couple of pillows each.
The shower room is a little tight, I’m not a big guy but difficult to turn around, there is a rain shower and you can’t get out of the way so we just used the smaller hair shower unit. There is no bath, the towels are bath sheets and hand towels, the soap is a pump action bottle next to the basin and one in the shower. Nice loo and sink, there is a small shelf above the sink. The extractor fan for the shower room goes off when you turn the light off so excellent noise reduction at night.
Would we stay again, absolutely, great staff, very nice hotel and rooms, fabulous breakfast, nice quiet area and not far from the underground station and shops. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
