Point A Hotel London - Canary Wharf

"I was recommended this hotel by a friend, and will recommend it myself to anyone asking me for recs on places to stay in London. The place was clean and well furnished, the bed was comfortable and the lighting was good. I appreciated the AC, because it was already hot outside. I booked a room with windows and a two persons bed, and was happily surprised by the space I got. The personnel working there was very nice. There is an umbrella renting service inside the lobby, which might be terribly useful if you forgot yours."

"I stayed here during a London heatwave so my main priority was the AC. This was excellent — individual units in the room which cooled down fast and stayed that way. Size-wise the rooms are compact but not cramped, and offer and good value for money. The Location is handy — about five minutes on foot from the Elizabeth Line, which puts most of London within easy reach. Whilst everything else in the room was really modern, the TV was a bit of a letdown with no streaming or casting support, so you're stuck with free-to-air channels only (some of which had patchy reception). I paid an extra £4 for a window, but didn't really need it apart from the light as it just looked onto a wall. Unfortunately I'd been given a space right next to the lobby entrance, which meant spending the night being jolted awake every time the door banged shut. If you book direct rather than through a third party, you can pick your room in advance. You also get free breakfast thrown in, which would cost £13 normally (and not be worth it!)"

"Generally the hotel is fine but in the second (of 2) buildings the first few rooms open directly onto the ground floor entrance hall. The front door is heavy and the catch is loud, as are the guests entering and leaving. This makes it impossible to sleep unless / until the last guest comes in. My advice if they offer you rooms 501 - 503 is to politely refuse and insist on another room."
